Why do all of US know about the Branch Organizational Manual, but the Legal Department doesn't, and the Service Desk doesn't?
Why do all of US know how it realllllly is? and they "don't"? Elders do not encourage people to go to the police, elders encourage "silence." "Keeping Jehovah's name clean" "Not bringing reproach on the congregation/ Jehovah's name" People who talk get disfellowshipped. People who testify in a trial get disfellowshipped. Stuart needs examples of these.
I have heard so many people say, so many times, "We can't bring reproach on Jehovah's name!" That is ingrained!
Elders read those Sheperding books like a Bible, they do "not go beyond what is written." It is followed word for word, and all the implications in the WT are in the back of their brain...
Have you ever noticed how many times that Rahab is brought up and studied in the WT and other publications? How she protected the spies by 'lying' about where they were? This is the subtle indoctrination, the repeated praising of such actions to "protect God's organization"... After all, she became one of Christ's ancestors, right? So how bad can 'lying' ("theocratic warfare") be?

Then Stewart asks if scriptural interpretations ever change? and what would happen if you had a different interpretation of the scriptural guidelines for procedures other than the GB? would you be free to change them, or would you have to consult the GB?
That is why he asked him to consider, 'which scriptural guidelines could you see never changing?' before lunch...

"When there is 'serious sin'....." OK, it's serious..... Child abuse is serious.... How serious?
Serious enough to "inform the elders."....... Think about it.... ELDERS are elevated above the law.
Does law enforcement have training on how to deal with child abuse? to ensure safety for the victim? have access to scientific evidence that might establish a crime? have programs to help 'reform' pedophiles (Doctors, drugs, psychiatrists, etc) ? Take notes that won't be destroyed? (It also retains a data base if any further accusations are brought up against an individual should they move. The WT's hired lawyer used this data base to obtain figures and info)

Do elders have the training? NO.....
But who are the publishers instructed to inform? ELDERS..... Elders FIRST......
The point that even IF law enforcement were informed FIRST, it would not inhibit elders in following through in their 'investigating' for the 'spiritual welfare of the flock' is not addressed or acknowledged.
It would actually make their job easier, right? The law does not stop the "judicial process" of the congregation... it aids it.
